The Shopaholic Tag

Hey everyone!  I don’t think it’s a surprise to anyone- I love shopping.  This tag, “The Shopaholic Tag,” has been around YouTube once or twice, and recently someone I watch did it as a video.  So, I decided to create a blog post answering the questions about my shopping addiction.  Enjoy!

1. Would you consider yourself a shopaholic?
As much as I hate to admit it (ok, kind of), yes, I would say I’m a shopaholic.  BUT, I’ve gotten better.  I look for discounts and coupons  more than ever before, and know when to say ‘no’ to a bargain or a splurge.

2. How would you classify your style?
I would say that in my head, I have a style similar to that of Nikki Phillipi, MissGlammorazzi, or Amarixe on YouTube.   I love them all.  But in reality, it just doesn’t work out and I’d say it’s more of a ‘hey, I tried,’ kind of style.  I feel like I end up with one stylish piece with a really basic piece, which works, I’m not saying that’s a bad thing.  I just wish I could do more.

3. What store can you not leave without buying at least one thing?
I’m addicted to Target – and no, not just because I work there.  They just have everything there from clothes to makeup to even home goods, that it’s hard to not want to buy something when you go in.

4. Where do you find the best deals?
Clothing wise… I’d say I find the best deals at Target, partly because I really stick to the clearance racks and DIG even though it’s difficult, and because I have the employee discount.  But I also love getting great deals at H&M.  I love the style of clothing there, and when I can get a great deal there, it’s even better.

5. What designer are you willing to splurge for?
I don’t have any real ‘designer’ clothing, but I currently love shopping at New York and Company, though I’m not sure if that’s considered designer.  But for me that’s pretty swanky stuff.  And JCrew is something to strive for.  (haha)  As far as designers go… I would love to own something by Michael Kors.  Perhaps that rose gold watch that is just GORGEOUS???

6. Do you have a go to shopping outfit?
Not really.  I would never go shopping in a skirt or dress- it just makes things too complicated.  And I would definitely make sure that I have shoes that I can easily take on and off because trying pants on becomes easier – so either flip flops, some type of slip on sandals, or flats.  Other than that, those are my outfit ‘requirements.’

7. What is your guilty pleasure? (Not including makeup)
Necklaces!  It’s funny because I always want to buy more, but I haven’t actually worn any in awhile…. Hmm… I should probably change that.  I used to wear one every day, so they weren’t going to waste, but the past few weeks I just haven’t for some reason.  Anyways, necklaces I always gravitate towards to buy, and next would be rings.

8. What is one staple clothing piece you cannot live without?
A staple clothing piece I couldn’t live without would most likely be a cami/tank top to wear for layering under tops – I wear one almost every day!  Also, just a good pair of skinny jeans is a staple.  I know the question says just one item, but I don’t have a good pair of skinnies right now, and it’s just not a fun time.  Wearing boots?  Yeah, it’s just much more complicated.  Can you say #girlproblems?

9. What is a trend you hope never goes out of style?
I love the current boots/skinny jeans/leggings style.  Though I don’t wear the leggings part mainly because I’m not comfortable with my body enough to wear them.  I hope the trend doesn’t pass before I get my body in tip top shape and I can look my best and rock the trend!  Overall, I think the trend is just very warm and cozy looking and is very comfortable and I like that it can be dressed up or down.

10. What trend did you love that passed way to quickly?
I honestly can’t think of a trend that has passed too quickly.  I was never super super into clothing and fashion trends until a few years ago, so I never paid attention.  I was always just more into my hair.

11. Who is your fashion icon?
The YouTubers that I mentioned before are all of my fashion icons (Nikki Phillipi, MissGlammorazzi, and Amarixe).  But I also love Lauren Conrad, Jenniffer Lawrence, and Emma Watson.
