#1: Your favorite book and why: The entire Harry Potter
series because I love that it gives me the escape from the real world, and the
story is just pure gold. Outside of
Harry Potter, my favorite book is Pride and Prejudice. I love this book because of the relationship
between Lizzie and Darcy and how it grows throughout the book, and the minor
characters are absolutely hilarious.
#2: A quote from said book: There are too many quotes from
Harry Potter to choose from, and I have a whole post series on my favs, (so go
check that out!). I also have a lot of
quotes I love from Pride and Prejudice but one of my favorites is “I have faults enough, but
they are not, I hope, of understanding. My temper I dare not vouch for. It is,
I believe, too little yielding— certainly too little for the convenience of the
world. I cannot forget the follies and vices of other so soon as I ought, nor
their offenses against myself. My feelings are not puffed about with every
attempt to move them. My temper would perhaps be called resentful. My good
opinion once lost, is lost forever.”
#3: Your favorite author and favorite book by them: J.K.
Rowling, Jane Austin, Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice (see above!!)
#4: Your favorite book from your childhood: Harry Potter,
Princess Diaries series
#5: Guilty pleasure book: Teresa Guidice’s cookbook (does
that count??)
#6: If you were stranded on a desert island, what book would
you want? All of them!!!
#7: Favorite movie adaptation of a book: I can’t think of one
in particular, mainly because I’m very critical of movies when I’ve read the
book. I do like movies that are based
off of books, but I can’t think of one stand-out movie based off a book.
#8: Favorite quote from any book: “Wit beyond measure is man’s
greatest treasure.”
#9: What are you currently reading? A Game of Thrones by
George R.R. Martin
#10: Write a review of the last book you read: The last book I
read was…. I honestly can’t even remember because I’ve been working on Game of
Thrones for a while now. This one is 900
pages and very small print so it’s coming along very very slowly. But, for anyone who’s considering reading it,
it’s completely worth it, and I highly recommend it!
#11: Favorite book you had to read for school The Iliad and
the Odyssey. I love Greek Mythology so
these two books were right up my alley.
If you’re interested in Greek Gods and Goddesses, read these!
#12: Favorite classic: The Scarlet Letter
#13: Favorite poet: I’m not really into poetry, but I do have
one poem that I’ve always really liked, so if I were to pick a favorite poet,
I’d pick Walt Whitman.
#14: Post your favorite poem
O CAPTAIN! my
Captain! our fearful trip is done, The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up - for you the flag is flung - for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribbon'd wreaths - for you the shores
a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here Captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head!
It is some dream that on the deck,
You've fallen cold and dead.
My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still,
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will,
The ship is anchor'd safe and sound, its voyage closed and done,
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
But I with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
