Gilmore Girls Challenge Part 1 of 3

This is a 30 Day Gilmore Girls challenge that I found on Tumblr and I decided I wanted to share my answers with you guys as  it’s one of my favorite shows, and I’ll post the answers in three posts.  And… I tag YOU to answer the questions too!

Warning: If you’re not a pretty big fan some of these won’t make sense.

Day 1. Are you a Lorelai or a Rory?

          A mix of both

Day 2. What was the first episode of Gilmore Girls you ever saw (even in part)?

The episode in the third season that has Sherri giving birth to Gigi and has the flashbacks to Lorelai giving birth to Rory (“Dear Emily and Richard”)

Day 3. Have you ever quoted the Gilmore Girls in real life, even if nobody knew that’s what you were doing?

I Quote this show all the time.  Typically, only one of my friends actually gets what I’m talking about, but most of my friends just accept that I quote the show and won’t get the references I make and they just go with it.

Day 4. Is there anyone in your life that you know a character HAS to be based off of because they are so similar?

          I can’t think of anyone off the top of my head…

Day 5. Are you and your mother more like Lorelai/Rory, Mrs. Kim/Lane or Emily/Lorelai?

Difficult question…  But I would say we’re a healthy mix of Lorelai/Rory and Emily/Lorelai.

Day 6. Have you ever tried or made a food after seeing it on Gilmore Girls?

Absolutely.  I’ve tried Caramel Machiatto’s because of Rory, become a huge coffee drinker because of both girls, I’ve tried a lot of new types of junk food because of the food they’ve eaten, and I’ve even modeled my own movie nights with my friends after the movie nights that they do on the show.

Day 7. Are you a Paris or a Lane?

I’m definitely a Paris, even though I wish I was more of a Lane, because I think I’m a Paris due to me having more of her negative qualities – being to round up, overambitious, high-strung, etc.

Day 8. What’s the one Stars Hollow town event that you want to attend/recreate in you own town?

          Firelight Festival/Bonfire

Day 9. What is the number one thing that’s happening in pop culture right now that you wish the Gilmore Girls were still around to talk about/make fun of?

Twilight- I bet the writers would give Lorelai some hilarious lines about vampires and Kristen Stewart

Day 10. What’s your funniest/craziest Gilmore Girls related story that you want to share?

This isn’t a story exactly, more of a comment on my obsession.  But, earlier, I had been watching a rerun of an episode when it was on tv but had muted the television for a few minutes so that I could watch a YouTube video.  Well, when I glanced up at the tv, I would say all of the lines exactly as the actors would have said them, and when I put the sound back on, I was right on cue.  (And this is when you say, “I think you have a problem, dear”)
