Beautiful People: My latest TV Show Obsession

Have you ever seen the TV show Beautiful People?  It’s an old ABC Family TV show that aired in 2005 and starred Daphne Zuniga, Sarah Foret, and Torrey DeVitto.  It also happens to be one of the shows which gave Jackson Rathbone (Twilight) his big break (other than the OC).

The show, which details the life of single mother Lynn Kerr, and her two daughters Karen and Sophie’s new life in New York City, has become my latest obsession.  I remember wanting to watch the show when it first aired in 2005, but simply didn’t have the time, being a freshman in high school and completely obsessed with other TV shows and completely engrossed in daily high school life.  So now that the show is on Netflix, I finally got my chance.  I’ve been watching the show daily, and I’m hooked.

The show unfortunately only ran for one season, and I’m definitely curious to see which way it will wrap up.  At the point where I am in the show I do not have any idea of the direction it will take, but I am right in the thick of things.  The drama has really set in, bringing in class issues, drugs, career climbing, and old loves.  Not to mention a father who ran away with the eldest daughter’s best friend.  Talk about juicy details!

I admit, the show definitely has a similar vibe to the first seasons of Gossip Girl, so if you liked the beginning of that particular show, than you’d most likely enjoy watching BP.  The show even has its very own “white party,” just as Gossip Girl did, though BP’s take on it is slightly different.  Watch it; you’ll see what I mean.

Overall, it’s a great show.  Though I’m not at the end of the show’s 16 episodes, I feel pretty confident in recommending it to all of you lovely readers out there.  So go ahead, try it out.  And if you do, comment below and let me know what you think of it.  You know I love hearing your thoughts on things!  And if you’re not interested in this show or have already seen it, let me know what shows I SHOULD be watching.  I could use any and all recommendations!
