Hey Everyone!
Well, this is it!
This is the FINAL installment of “What’s on My Cell Phone!” I hope this series has been helpful to all of
you and that you have all found some interesting apps for your own phones or devices
or that you have all found some apps that you know now you definitely want to
avoid! With that being said, let’s dive
right into the last little bits on my phone!
Tools
Best Wallpapers HD:
This is by far the best wallpaper app that I’ve been able to find for my
phone. It’s what I am currently using to
have my Union Jack background (though as I write this, I think I should switch
to something more winter-themed). The
options are great, and the backgrounds all are great quality.
Calculator: This
is a basic calculator that is pre-installed on the phone. Not much to say here, but I have it in my
folder for easy access because math is definitely not my strong suit, I’m
afraid to admit.
Alarm/Clock:
Another pre-installed app on the phone, this is a basic alarm, clock feature
that also has a stopwatch and timer.
Pretty useful, but it’s not the alarm I use to wake up every morning. I still stick with my old clock radio for the
morning wake-ups. I do tend to use my
phone alarm when I nap, however.
Maps: I would
probably be terribly lost right now without this app. I am horrible with directions, and since my
GPS doesn’t have updated maps, and the charger on it isn’t working properly, I
can only thank God that I have a smartphone with Google Maps. My one complaint? I wish I could get the navigation voice
louder. But all in all, the directions
are clear and concise, and you can even choose your route based on highway,
time, etc., all features that were more difficult to do on my GPS. Basically, this app is a lifesaver.
Play Store
This is the Google version of the Apple App Store. Not much to say about it other than
that. It’s organized pretty much the
same way as the Apple store, by category and you can filter apps, games,
etc. You can also find a ton of free
apps and games based on what you’re looking for, which is what I tend to
gravitate towards, because I just can’t justify spending $5.99 for a phone game
that I’ll be bored with in 3 months. The
one thing that differs from the App store is that not all apps are available in
both stores at the same time, which can be a disappointment at times, but if
you search you can always find awesome alternatives, often times which are
better than your original search.
Help Button
I have never once used this button. But, it’s purpose is to help new users to the
phone with questions regarding the phone’s function. Now that I say it, I should probably just
remove it from my home screen. Opening
the app up, I find how to videos, a my Verizon mobile section, additional
guides, and settings for the help section (turning on and off the tips for the
phone). This would be more beneficial if
this was your very first cell phone, and had no idea what to do. While this was my first smartphone, I’d
played around with enough of my friends’ smartphones which are similar to mine
that I knew the basics prior to even turning mine on so the tips weren’t even
necessary for me.
So there you have it!
We’ve now gone over absolutely everything in and on my phone! I hope you’ve enjoyed this series. If you have and would like to learn about
what is on my iPod touch, let me know and I can get started on that for you!
If you have any questions regarding anything that I’ve
mentioned- my phone itself (the LG Lucid 2), my phone case (from Trident), or
any of the apps that I’ve mentioned, feel free to leave a comment below or let
me know through the blog email or twitter, or any social media site listed to
the right. I’m always willing to answer
your questions and help you out!
And, if you have any recommendations on apps for me, don’t
forget to let me know! I’m always
looking to check out new things!
Until next time, Happy Reading!
Allison
