Video Game Review: Mario Kart Double Dash

This is another classic Gamecube game.  The Gamecube’s version of the ever popular Nintendo racing game, Double Dash is unique in that it features two characters in a vehicle, not just one, like the other racing games that Nintendo has released.  This means that one character drives the race cart, while the other character sits on the back of the kart and is there to specifically throw items.

I personally love this version of the classic racing game.  I specially love the new addition to the two player mode.  In addition to racing against each other as in all traditional racing games, the two players have the option of driving the same kart.  One person acts as the driver, and the other, the item thrower.  And if you want to switch roles in the middle of the race, you have the option to do so!

This game also has some of my favorite course out of any of the racing games.  I specifically love Daisy Cruiser, a cruise ship (in case you couldn’t guess), Peach Beach, Waluigi Stadium, and Mushroom Bridge.  What are your favorite courses?

In addition to the game itself, my copy of the game also came with a bonus disc that contains samples of other popular Nintendo games.  This is how I’ve become an expert at certain Mario Party 5 mini games, and a few of the Sonic courses, which I’ve surprisingly come to love.  I’m actually quite surprised that I do not own either of those two games considering how much I enjoy playing the samples that came in the bonus disc.

Nonetheless, if you enjoy playing racing games, and are looking for a good GameCube version, I highly recommend MarioKart Double Dash.  I guarantee you won’t regret this purchase!
